Exercise with Soul: Turn every kilometer into a good deed
Have you signed up for a YOLO Events event and want to turn your sporting challenge into a truly memorable experience? Join the community of runners and triathletes who choose to give extra meaning to their steps by supporting a charitable cause!
What does it mean to run/participate in a competition for a cause at YOLO?
In short, you participate in a YOLO event and turn the sporting challenge into a way to raise funds for a non-profit organization or a cause you believe in.
✔️ You are already registered for the race (or you register normally)
✔️ You create a personal fundraising page
✔️ You activate your friends, colleagues, and community to support you through donations
✔️ You train and compete knowing that every kilometer has a real impact
Donations are made online, directly on your page, and supporters can leave you messages of encouragement that really matter on race day 💙
How do you get started? (3 simple steps)
STEP 1: Choose the cause
You can support:
- an event partner organization
- a non-profit organization that is close to your heart
If the event has a dedicated charity program (e.g., Timișoara 21K, Bucharest 21K), you will find the list of partner causes directly on the event website.
STEP 2: Create your fundraising page
Visit Sportiv.Galantom.ro and create your personal fundraising page associated with the YOLO event you are participating in. Your page will include:
why you run/play sports
who you support
your fundraising goal
STEP 3: Tell the story and involve others
Share your page:
- on social media
- on WhatsApp
- by email
- at the office, in your running club, with your family
No need for large donations—many small donations make a huge difference.
Why run/compete for a cause?
Give meaning to your participation
You're training anyway. Why not turn that into something good for someone else?
You get a real boost of motivation
When you know that people have donated and believe in you, it's much harder to skip training sessions.
You become an ambassador for a cause
You run/play sports for an organization, helping them to be seen, heard, and supported by more people.
You create connections
You reconnect with loved ones, meet other runners/amateur athletes/fundraisers, and become part of a community that exercises with passion.
Benefits
The benefits of sport for body and mind, combined with the satisfaction of doing good – a combination that's hard to beat.
Simple fundraising tips
Set a realistic goal
But don't worry, if things go well, you can always increase it.
Be yourself
Explain why the cause is important to you. An authentic story attracts more supporters.
Make your first donation
A page that already has a certain amount raised (even if it's small) encourages other people to contribute.
Post updates
Show your supporters how your training is going. Photos and videos increase the visibility of your campaign.
Thank you publicly
Every donor deserves a token of appreciation. A thank-you message makes them feel part of your success.
Is it difficult? No.
Does it matter? Enormously.
You don’t have to be an elite athlete.
You don’t have to raise huge sums of money. You just have to care and take the first step.
